Five Hundred Years of Grainges - Grainges in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and London, and related Buckinghamshire Families.
Pam Griffiths
This document in pdf format represents the result of several years' research into a group of families from Buckinghamshire and a couple of North Hertfordshire parishes. As well as extensive research on the Grainges, there is information on a number of other families: Dauncer, Christmas, Norwood, Wells and Fitkin in the Aston Clinton area; Grantham, Roads, King, Marks, Truby and Groom in Quainton and the Claydons; and Wilks, Curtis, Ray, Emerton and other families in Little Horwood and surrounding parishes. Although every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, even allowing for human error any research involves a degree of interpretation, and I am happy to acknowledge any mistakes or omissions.
Part of the final chapters, along with their accompanying trees and pictures, have been withheld to maintain the privacy of family members still living. I have left gaps in the pagination so that the page references in the index still hold. Copies of the complete book are held by the Society of Genealogists, the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies, Hertfordshire Archive and Local Studies Centre and the Buckinghamshire Family History Society. Alternatively, you can contact me for further information.
If anybody can add branches to my tree, please get in touch.
